Every time you use ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, data leaves your browser. IcyHat shows you exactly what's being sent — and lets you stop anything that shouldn't go through. One click. All data stays on your device.
Free forever for basic monitoring. Founding memberships are limited.
Chrome may show a "Proceed with caution" prompt for new extensions — this is normal. Learn why →
In December 2025, security researchers discovered that browser extensions with millions of installs were secretly recording everything people typed into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini — then selling it.
Between subscriptions, API calls, and usage limits, most people have no idea what their AI habit actually costs. IcyHat tracks every request across every platform and gives you a clear weekly picture.
You've had hundreds of AI conversations. Code snippets, research threads, decisions you made with reasoning you can't quite remember. It's all gone the moment you close the tab — unless something is recording it.
Free: 3-day history • Founding Member: unlimited forever
IcyHat sits between your browser and your AI platforms. Switch between modes anytime from the sidebar that appears on any AI page.
You typed 12 words. Behind the scenes, your browser sent 87,000 tokens of data to the AI — including your full conversation history, system instructions, and attached files. Most people never see any of this.
🚨 This is exactly what those malicious extensions could seeThe extensions that stole 8 million people's conversations were reading this same data stream, silently. IcyHat shows it to you instead — and lets you block it.
All demos run locally in your browser. No data sent anywhere.
Enterprise AI security starts at $10,000 a year. IcyHat brings the same browser-level protection to individuals — and founding members make that possible.
IcyHat is free on the Chrome Web Store today. Founding members get lifetime access to every Pro feature, a direct line to the developer, and the best price this product will ever have.
After the first 500 founding spots are claimed, IcyHat Pro moves to $8–10/month. Founding members never pay again.
Yes. IcyHat stores everything locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage. There's no server, no cloud, no analytics. It doesn't collect your data, and it can't — there's literally nowhere for your data to be sent. The extension is reviewed and approved by the Chrome Web Store.
Chrome's Enhanced Safe Browsing shows this warning for every new extension from a newer developer — it's not specific to IcyHat. Google labels extensions as "not yet trusted" until the developer builds a track record of policy compliance, positive reviews, and installs over several months. About 75% of Chrome Web Store extensions have already passed this threshold. IcyHat's earlier version (v0.10.4) was reviewed and approved by Google — we're building that track record now. You can safely click "Continue to install."
No. In Token Meter and Monitor modes, IcyHat observes requests as they pass through — it doesn't add any noticeable delay. In Firewall mode, requests are paused until you click Allow, so there's a brief wait while you review. But the AI platforms themselves work exactly the same way.
Not at all. Install it, and IcyHat starts working automatically on any AI platform you visit. The sidebar shows you what's happening in plain language. You don't need to configure anything — the defaults work well for most people. If you're technical, there are advanced settings available, but they're entirely optional.
When you use an AI platform, your browser sends your message to the AI's servers. In Firewall mode, IcyHat catches that message before it leaves and shows it to you. If you click Block, the message never reaches the AI — it stays in your browser. If you click Allow, it goes through normally. If you don't respond within 60 seconds, the message is allowed automatically so the page doesn't freeze.
IcyHat reads the visible messages on each AI platform page — the same text you see on screen. It checks for changes every 12 seconds and saves new messages locally. This is separate from the firewall, which monitors outgoing requests. The capture feature records what you see; the firewall monitors what your browser sends.
No. All data is stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no server, no cloud component. IcyHat cannot phone home because there's no home to phone.
They're close estimates, not exact numbers. IcyHat calculates costs based on the data being sent and the AI model being used, but it doesn't have access to each provider's exact pricing engine. Think of it like a car's fuel economy display — useful for spotting trends and catching surprises, not for reconciling a bill to the penny.
The monitoring and firewall features work at the network level, so they're resilient to website redesigns. The conversation capture feature reads the page structure, which can change when platforms update. Founding Members get these maintenance updates for life — it's one of the core reasons the founding membership exists.
Free gives you full monitoring, firewall, and cost tracking with 3 days of conversation history. Founding Members pay $79 once and get unlimited history, full-text search, export tools, auto-approve rules, session budgets, and a direct line to the developer. When the 500 founding spots sell out, Pro moves to $8–10/month. Founding Members never pay again.
